We are in Grace Bay and have a house. Is Uber or Lyft an option or should we rent a car?

No Lyft/Uber in Turks. 10-15 minute trips via taxi from Grace Bay are around $40 round trip for two people and the same amount for each additional two.

They drive on wrong side of road and have lots of roundabouts.

I would rent a car or find a dedicated taxi driver.

We have been "stranded" a couple of times when we took the ferry boat to the other islands.

Suggest renting a car. It is a great island to explore and renting a car is very easy. They do drive under UK format and mostly have round abouts rather than traffic lights.

do they right hand drive cars or do they use American left handers and still drive on the wrong side?

going for a Thurs to Mon (2 travel days and 3 full days there), staying on a grace bay resort. recommend renting a car whole time and parking at resort? is there a lot to do and see outside of the resort(s)? how hard was traffic with roundabouts and driving on left w/ steering wheel on left?

Highly recommend driving. We did a lot of excursions and went to different restaurants around the island. Never drove on the opo side before but it was easy to pick up. Just have a good navigator if the gps screen is no bueno. The car we had the steering wheel was on the right side. Was weird but got used to it.

thank you! never been and not sure how much wife and I will want to stay at resort vs get out around the isle.

We were just there early last month. Island is fairly dead due to tourist season being off peak.

We did take the ferry over to middle caicos for a day and rented a car there, but again things were slow and many places not open (we brought drinks and snacks just in case).

The rest of the time we did very little (that was our plan) and enjoyed the beach.
