How long do you want to ignore this user?
Leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks in Scotland. I've seen a lot about travel tips and one thing many people mention is VPNs, specifically Surfshark.

Anyone have any thoughts on pros, cons, needed, not needed, etc? I know I'm late in asking but was just looking at options and thought I'd ask the group.

Do you want VPN coverage on everything or just specific devices (just phones or laptops)? Are you just worried about privacy or do you want to do something specific, such as: Remote log into a company computer - a personal computer back stateside - use a streaming service to get local television (local to your residence in the USA)

If you do not use a VPN for anything right now you are probably fine. -- However -- If you are using a device on public wifi (hotel retail - restaurant etc) it is a good idea to use a VPN regardless if you are overseas or not.

As far as security goes, I do not think Surfshark is inherently more or less secure than the other popular services like Nord, ExpressVPN or ProtonVPN. If you are looking for a VPN find one that has the best price and features you want/need included in the cheapest subscription. They usually have a limit to the number of devices as well as a lot of features that seem fancy that you may not actually use or they use fancy marketing terms for a basic feature.

I always bring my laptop on vacation and never end up using it. That is a good thing. That means I was out doing stuff and come back to the room exhausted. I hope the same for you.
