I've already had the buddy invited you to go with his band who was playing at Sturgis emergency. Sadly, I couldn't make that trip but I was able to make the buddy is playing two days at an outdoor music festival in Japan emergency.

I was at the final Rush concert at the LA Forum in 2015.
I wasn't positive but I strongly suspected it would be the final show they ever played.
Glad I went way out of my way to see it (was living in Sydney at the time). Totally worth it.

Jethro Tull might be another good get, concert-wise.

Hmm. If I'm paying for it I can't think of much. I'd probably pay $1,000 to see the Ags in the national championship. Or the Mavs in the NBA finals.

I did join a friend on a last minute trip to Big Bend a couple years ago. So I guess that's my answer.
