The wife and I are heading up to Providence in the next few weeks and looking for restaurant recommendations. Will be our first time to the North East. We will be spending a few days in Boston but think we are good there.

Right now we have as possibilities are Hemenways, Camille's and Waterman Grille.

Anything we should know or maybe missing?

Haven't yet traveled there, but I've heard that Italian cuisine would be a good choice in Rhode Island.

Camille's is the Italian place we had looked into.

My wife is from Tiverton, RI (family still there) and she mentioned Al Forno's and Bacco in Providence. We've heard Red Door is really good, but never been.

It's been several years but some off the beaten path and a little outside Providence recommendations:

Jeanette's Bakery
348 Branch Ave, Providence, RI 02904
Not a full meal but as a quick lunch/ heavy snack. Grab and go.

Iggy's Doughboys & Chowder House
889 Oakland Beach Ave #9616, Warwick, RI 02889

Jigger's Diner
145 Main St, East Greenwich, RI 02818
Not open all the time.

Red Stripe
465 Angell St, Providence, RI 02906
Even if you don't go here drive up Blackstone Blvd, it's a pretty area.

Olneyville New York System Restaurant

Del's They have trucks all over in the summer, quick slushie type treat.

I would encourage you to venture south if time allows. It's all close. If you drive down 1 and then 1A to Narragansett or even Point Judith you will get to see lots of quaint areas.

Dinner (maybe lunch if open):
Circe
Providence Oyster Bar ($1 happy hour oysters and drink for the win)
Mare Roof Top
Hemingway's
Avenue N
iAlive

Casual Lunch
Olyneyville Hot Weiners (Rhody staple)
Red Stripe
Honey Birds Chicken (owned by Avenue N from above)

for breakfast we really didn't go out, but PVD Donuts is really cool and just google around for some traditional bakeries.

I'd go to Circe (downtown) and Avenue N. Outstanding places.

Awesome, thank you! We will definitely head to some of these. We do have a dinner reservation at Hemenways we are looking forward to.

We are staying in the downtown area, so should be close to a bunch.

Ultimately we will be heading to the Luke Combs concert at Foxborough on Saturday evening then a Red Sox game Sunday evening.

We saw him in Dallas in March (opening night I believe) and he puts on a good show! Acoustics in ATT blow but was still a great show from him and all the opening bands.

Wife and I saw him in Denver last year, it was snowing the day before the concert in late May by the way. Left the airport in shorts and a t shirt, landed to snow in Denver. The lineup was crazy good, Zach Bryan opener then Cody Johnson and Luke after that. Combs is about the only Nashville guy I can listen to over and over.

We wanted to see him again but figured we would do it in a place we have never been.

We are very much looking forward to Providence and Boston food and drinks!

Tried to talk her into the Dublin, Ireland show but we couldn't swing it as we would have wanted to stay for longer than we had.

It was almost 20 years ago but I enjoyed Spike's Junkyard Dogs for a quick lunch when I was up there.
