Howdy. Arriving in Venice on Friday morning and getting on a cruise ship on Saturday afternoon. I know this is a long shot, but has anyone any suggestions for a hotel for one night in Venice? Really just want it to be reasonable (~$400), as we'll be sleeping off jet lag before we get on the boat. TIA

I can tell you where we stayed last year for an almost identical quick trip: Palazzo Schiavoni. Cool old mansion with really big rooms, at least the one we stayed in. We liked it. Location was good, quiet and only about a 10 min walk from Piazzo San Marco IIRC with some good dining options in the area. Continental breakfast.

Palazzo Veneziano. Just a couple hundred yards to the cruise terminal.

It'a a Viking ocean cruise from Venice to Athens..

We did the same cruise in late April but stayed on to Istanbul. In Venice, we stayed at the Hilton Molino on a pre cruise extension and Viking handled our transfer to the ship when it was time to embark.
