Gonna take a road trip in July through the South. Hitting Savannah/Charleston for a few days and then just kind of winging it through the Carolinas for a few days before heading back to Texas. The kids that are going with us are ages 16-21. Taking one day to golf at Atlantic Dunes or HarborTown in Hilton Head. Other than that, we're open to suggestions.

We're definitely foodies and base the success of our trips around the quality of the food. We're not into the touristy things like theme parks or stuff you'd see in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. We like national and state parks and the outdoors. We're always up for a day hike. Unfortunately, no camping on this trip. Unique finds like the Andrews Valley Rail Tours always pique our interest. We also like to visit various college campuses (I like to see the football stadiums). Sports are a big thing in our family.

Gladly take any suggestions or ideas that you guys have.

TIA!!!!

Stay a night or two in Pinehurst and book a few tee times, have lunch at the clubhouse, look at the US Open memorabilia, etc. Downtown Greenville, SC is pretty neat. There's some cool beach towns on the NC coast, but might be a bit out of the way. The Boone/Blowing Rock/Banner Elk area of NC is great. Small town mountain vibes: good hiking and food and breweries. Check out the Savannah Bananas and/or Charleston River Dogs baseball teams.

If you want to add another day of golf to the trip there is a pretty cool course just outside the southeast part of Great Smoky Mountain NP called Sequoyah National. Great views and elevation changes. Would probably be pretty nice up there weather wise even in July.

Just spent 4 days at Hilton Head. The family really enjoyed it. The weather was awesome. We bike around everywhere as they have bike paths all around the island. Really enjoyed this place for seafood and a great sunset while having a drink.

Own an AirBnB in Bryson City. Email me at my username @ hotmail if you'd like an Airbnb link. I'm glad to rent to Ags outside of AirBnB.

If you're going to Charleston, do the ocean course over harbour town if you're only doing one "big time" course. If you like cheesy things, do a ghost tour in savannah. Got a lot of very cool information that wasn't on the hop/on hop off tour. Speaking of, do the hop on/hop off trolley tour in savannah. Spend plenty of time I Charleston. I did 4 days there, and wish I had done more. This is where you'll have the best restaurants at your fingertips (SNOB, 82 queen, hall's chophouse, Fig, and Charleston grill).
