That's my hometown. Please skip the casinos. My relatives run the Biloxi Tour Train. Maybe check that out for a little history of the area. Grab some poboys (crabmeat and cheese and roast beef are the best) at any one of several locally owned places - Fayard's, Desporte's, Quave Brothers, Taranto's, or Fillin' Station.

I always loved to just drive along Hwy 90. Katrina really wrecked the lovely homes built along there, but it's still enjoyable.

The Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs showcases his beautiful artwork and unique personal story.

The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum is also a local treasure.

Beauvoir was the last home of Jefferson Davis. It was always a favorite place to visit as a kid. Katrina decimated that, too, and I'm not sure how they rebuilt. Still a lot of great history, though.

Or take a boat out to Ship Island. I can't think of any better way to spend a day than a boat ride.

We did the tour train in 2017. Very worthwhile.
Ocean Springs is fun in general.

Go eat at Mary Mahoney's and get their bread pudding for dessert!

I know they get good reviews, but it makes me very happy to hear that directly!

Half shell oyster house is always a favorite of mine when passing through those parts. There was a swamp fan boat tour that used to operate out of that area that was fun. Don't know if they're still around though

my parents were married in Biloxi at Keesler AFB in 1962. Biloxi has been up and down a few times since then.

Yes, I know. I just wasn't sure how they replaced all of the furnishings and artifacts that were lost.

Beau Rivage is pretty good for a gulf coast casino.

I was there for a public meeting late last year and ate dinner at McElroys and it was good fresh seafood with a view out over the water.
