The Stanley Hotel and there's really nothing else worth mentioning unless you want a 'cabin' with a back porch that faces a river. Pretty but the main road runs just on the other side of it so any peaceful time you'll have cars driving by.
The Stanley is badass if you appreciate older 'historical' type hotels. You can also rent very nice condos/townhomes that are behind the main hotel, a 30 second to 2 minute walk to the hotel, and you have the same 'benefits' as if staying in the hotel.
We stayed at one the condo/townhomes years ago for our 1 year anniversary. Wouldn't matter to us now but it was nice that they all had private hot tubs on the patio that looked out over the hotel area.
Really cool place if you're a fan of the Shining since it was King's inspiration for the novel.
edit: We haven't stayed in Estes in 15 years, but given the size of the town I bet not much has changed. I'd stay there again if we return. I would like to try one of the traditional older rooms in the main building, ideally Room 237 because I'm a Shining fanboy. There are likely "nicer" more modern hotels in town, but the Stanley will be much more of an experience than any potentially 'fancier' or more moder hotel if one if even available in Estes.
Other edit: Room 217 is the room to stay in - Kubrick used 237 in the movie but the book, actual inspiration, and room at the hotel is 217.
