Heading to Frisco, CO from Amarillo tomorrow. Any suggestions on the best route or any weather concerns?

I was planning to take the route from Pueblo through Canon City.

I'm guessing the maps will lead you up 9 through Breck and I've never been that way. I'm sure it's fine. In from the east on 70 might be ok depending on the time you get around Denver. It can bog down.

The weather should be fine. We've been in a pattern lately of semi-clear mornings and occasional afternoon showers.

Enjoy it. I drove over from the Centennial area and spent Memorial Day weekend over there. There are certainly worse places to be.

have been going that way for years, no problems this time of year. There are no services on CO-9 from US 50 until Hartsell. Just fuel up and get some snacks in Canon City. We always hit the Chick-fil-A in Pueblo just west of the I-25 exit for US 50 west.

Clayton, NM, is a speed trap. Obey the ridiculous speed limits

Consider turning at Des Moines, going to Folsom, and taking highway 72 across Johnson Mesa. Beautiful drive.

Thanks for the info. We went up there in '20 and it routed us through the Springs and Denver and then over the pass. We came back the other way and it seemed faster.

Good to know about getting gas etc in canon city.
