Headed to DC next week and getting the SmartTrip app set up for the train and bus. My question is can I use that app card for me and my kid? Last time I was in NYC it wouldn't let us swipe the same card at the same station so basically everyone had to have a card loaded (it's been a long time though).
We won't be using it a ton so I was just going to put some money on it and not do an unlimited card or anything.

Maybe buy a metro card at a kiosk in the metro for your kid, probably easiest way. Scan your phone, then tap the card.

Just a follow up, each person does need their own card/device
