My fianc and I are traveling to Europe in June and she is having a problem getting global entry. She completed the online application all the way back in November 2022, but her application has been stuck in "Pending Review" since then. Is it normal these days to take 6+ months to even get an application reviewed so that you can try to schedule the interview?

Has anyone had experience with this recently and found any way to call someone that can do something about it? She doesn't have near the sense of urgency about this that I do, but this feels like one of those things I can't try and take care of on her behalf.

My wife and son got their "conditionally approved" in a day after submission, then had appointments for interview the day after that. Got their cards in the mail within two weeks start to finish.

I applied at the same time. I went with them to the interview in hopes I could get mine "pushed thru" and the officer wouldn't let me in. He told my wife he was surprised that they were already in, as it's usually 4-6 months.

What a freaking joke.

I'd think your best bet is to contact your congressman.

Mine took almost 9 months a few years ago, while the rest of the family was approved fairly quickly. Seems to be random.

Worst case is you can do mobile passport if she doesn't get it in time. Sometimes it's faster than GE.

Stick with fiancee in regular line, or leave her to navigate immigration on her own so you can use your Global Entry status and save two minutes.

We've already experienced this twice. Coming back from Mexico I stuck with her and it cost me probably 15 minutes at DFW, no big deal.

Coming back from Vancouver, Global Entry had a separate line in the Vancouver airport for security screening and customs, but having to wait in the regular line with her cost us about an hour pre-flight and that was the impetus for "strongly encouraging" her to get Global Entry.

Yeah, Vancouver is a weird one since you clear US Immigration before you leave Canada.

Sounds like you made the right decision to stick with her.

I'd be shocked if she gets anything that quickly. Hell, took me like 15 months to get an interview.

Hopefully she'll at least get approved so you can do the interview when you get back to the US, before leaving customs.

Must be something about the November submissions as I also submitted an application just to re-up my pass. I check every couple of weeks, but the status never changes from still pending. Luckily, they're still honoring my pre-check that comes with it for now.

I can never figure out how our government works. Recently renewed my GE online (abt 5 months out from expiration) on the 28th of April, was approved for another 5 years on the 29th of April and received my new card in the mail on the 10th of May. It was a super easy process.

Maybe it helps that I fly international 1-2 times a month and use GE often? No clue.

I had the same experience with my renewal last year.

Interesting thread. I have an eight hour layover in London Heathrow August 31. My concern is how long will it take me to get back through security if we go checkout central London for a few hours? It will be early afternoon 2:00PM ish.

Anyone with information or advice?

Finally got our notifications earier this week that we've been approved to move to the interview stage. I think it was mid-February when we submitted our apps.

Don't need until October so just grabbed the next DFW interviews available which is in late August.

We plan on also using the electronic passport, then we have options when the time comes.
