A cousin of mine and I are considering organizing a summer (2024) family reunion in the Lake Tahoe area, We could have anywhere from 15-30 people commit. My concept is to rent one gathering spot with large common rooms, and let individuals make their own reservations nearby when they commit. The main house would probably need to house about 8-10 of us, but once again, we're mainly interested in rooms big enough for the whole group to gather in.

I'm thinking South Lake Tahoe, due to the broad variety of things to do. Is anyone familiar with Zephyr Cove, or Lake Valley (just two spots that seem to have a wide assortment of Air BnB rentals), or are there other better locations? This would probably be a long weekend (Thursday - Monday) type gathering, but could be extended to a week if absolutely needed.

At this point, just looking for ideas - plenty of time to finalize details. Any brilliant insights?

Ive been to Tahoe a bunch and I love the northside. zephyr cove is one of my lesser favorite areas around the lake. hard to explain but it feels a little more run down than other areas.

Stayed in Zephyr Cove a few weeks ago. I think its more of a camping vibe than it sounds like you are looking for.

(Our camp site was surrounded by 5 feet of snow in April)

Thanks for the feedback so far - will remove Zephyr Cove from the list.

The only places I've stayed on the north shore are Incline Village and Squaw Valley. This was over 20 years ago - anything to consider in those areas?
