Got three kids age range 21-14 - looking at one of those four day school weekends in oct, nov, Jan, feb?

Recommendations are needed. Looking at visiting the fort and want to stay beachfront.

Thank you in advance.

Check out a VRBO in Palmas del Mar in Humacao.

We got one with a private pool. Other times we've stayed there in one with a community pool.

The restaurants in Palmanova Plaza aren't great but, they're good enough.
Compared to LA, the prices for dinner were at least 30% less.
Also, some of the places come with a golf cart, or you can rent one. Kids love the autonomy of driving the golf cart around.

Humacao has a Walmart so you can stock up on food for the week. If you need Costco, they've got that and Sams Club in Caguas on the way to Humacao from San Juan.

If you want to stay closer to San Juan, check out this place.

We went to the Ocean Lab brewery there for lunch in March 2023 and thought it looked like a pretty fun place to stay.

If you're up for the West Coast, we stayed at a place in Rincon before that was right on the beach and had the big outdoor chess set. Great for the kids.

EDIT: After re-reading what you're looking for, I think that Vivo Beach Club is probably what you want.

I've had clients at Rincon Beach Resort and they really enjoyed it!

Dorado Beach, Ritz Carlton is super popular and is more affordable than most think. Clients love the beach front access and beautiful views.

We have stayed at Dorado, beautiful resort but there is nothing affordable about it.

Just a positive reinforcement... we loved Puerto Rico. Took a family trip in 2016. We rented a car and felt extremely safe. We experienced:

Food stands on the side of the road
Zip lines
Water falls
Beach
Private tour of Old San Juan

Baccalaito is a MUST. DO NOT judge it or turn your nose up at it until you have tried it. Buy it on the side of the road, fried on a fire in a 55-gallon drum. It's a cod fritter... and it is heavenly - one of my favorite childhood foods.

Im going to disagree with others, I think you should stay in the San Juan area, theres more to do and you are centrally located to the other areas of the island if you want to explore a bit. Isla Verde and Condado are the two most popular beach areas, and a quick drive/uber to the Fort (El Morro)-Old San Juan. In Isla Verde theres El San Juan Hotel and The Intercontinental that are right on the beach and pretty nice hotels. Theres a lot of other hotel and air bnb options in Isla Verde and Condado that are near the beach. Take your pick.
