How long do you want to ignore this user?
Sorry for all of the posts - y'all are helping me plan a month in Europe so thanks in advance.

I am looking for one day "must do's" in both Split, Croatia and Dubrovnik, Croatia. We are doing each of them separately for one day only, as we are hopping off a cruise in both cases on separate days.

I would really like to get away from the tourist-trap type areas at these cruise stops and have zero knowledge of either area.

In terms of recommendations - I am looking for quick sites we have to see as well as any lunch spots. We have two very flexible, well-traveled kids that are 9 and 4 and can hang with most activities within reason.

Thanks again for any help!

We spent a couple days in Split prior to a week on a boat. We had an excellent dinner at Bokeria Kitchen and Wine. It's in Diocletian's Palace.

Buffet fife is right on the water by the Split harbor and is a great cheap eats kind of place.

Not sure how much time you've got in Split but look at Plitvice Lakes National Park - about 2.5 hour drive from Split.

If 1 day in Dubrovnik, stay there. Walk the walls, go to Buza bar on the west side of the city. Eat at Lady PiPi.

Dubrovnik - Pizzeria Oliva is fantastic with great location on nice side alley, very local feel with great food. For classic fine dining go to Restaurant Dubrovnik, upscale, great atmosphere, not touristy, great local food without breaking the bank. But for the most memorable meal take the funicular to Restaurant Panorama up on the mountain with an incredible view overlooking Dubrovnik and the ocean. You must get a reservation and ask for a table on the front row overlooking the ocean. Get the reservation for 1 hour before sunset so you enjoy a really great sunset view.

For Split, we enjoyed Konoba Atlantida which has a very nice patio looking out over the water. Very good seafood, pasta and local cuisine. Easy to walk to from the Palace. Great local atmosphere and not touristy.

What we noticed in Split and Dubrovnik was that the cruise ships arrive mid morning and leave mid afternoon. The cities would go from overrun to quiet and perfect. Buza bar for sunset in Dubrovnik. Take the ferry from Split to Brac. Rent the faster scooter in Supetar, then book it for Zlatni Rat.

Any other restaurant recommendations for Dubrovnik? We'll be there the week after next - already going to Panorama and Restaurant 360.

Lady PiPi. Great food. Wood fire oven. At the top of the city with some great views.

Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen. You just can't miss it.
I've been there back in 2017 and think that vacation was one of our best ones ever. We made it with the KLOOK travel agency (read more info about them) and think we will repeat it again next year. This year we've already booked all our flights/hotels etc.

I'm taking this same cruise with my family in June, I'd love to hear how it goes for y'all. TIA.

Ours is actually in June as well… probably on the same boat.

There is a great (and popular) Bosnian restaurant in old town Dubrovnik called Taj Mahal. One of the more memorable meals I've had on vacation for sure.

Agree 100%, great restaurant. We've eaten dinner there twice this week and once for dessert.
