We will be there for a night before we get on a cruise. I was wondering what to do down there. Restaurants, shopping etc. We have kids so won't be partying, but a cool authentic Restaurant would be nice. Yelp is hard to navigate.

Thanks!

We had dinner at El Jibarito in Old San Juan. Really good restaurant and there were some cool bars nearby.

Old San Juan has lots of restaurants on the streets near where the cruise ships stop.

I was just there ten days ago. I parked in the SP+ parking garage and walked around shopping for souvenirs.

Use this location as a starting point and then look at anything within walking distance from there.

There's a really cool dive bar called El Batey. It's been open for decades and the history is (literally) on the walls. One of the bartenders there, Feo (pronounced like Theo), lived in Dallas for a long time and is a super good dude.

La Factoria is a pretty famous bar as well. Has been featured in music videos and whatnot. It has 3 separate rooms and pretty good cocktails.

It has been over 10 years since I was there, but the Hotel El Convento is a really nice spot, both to stay and to hang out for bites and drinks.
