Hadn't been to Puerto Vallarta in 27 years and decided to go in early March. I blindly picked an all-inclusive resort that wasn't near downtown (40-minute trip from the airport) and hit the jackpot.
Some of the highlights:
- Adults only
- Very secluded. We walked the beach in the early mornings nearly by ourselves. Most days less than 25 people on beach for as far as you can see.
- Nobody saving beach chairs
- Humpback whales everywhere (Season is December to end of March). Breaching the water.
- Infinity pool with swim-up bar overlooking the ocean
- Close enough to Sayulita and Bucerias (30 minutes to each) to take a day trip.
- Most every room has an ocean view.
Lowlights:
- Zero nightlife. When the pool closes at 9 p.m. everyone goes to their room. There was one show and karaoke one night.
Middle of the road:
Food was OK for an all-inclusive, but not great.
We are going back at the end of June.
