Going towards the end of April. Working on last two weekends there but have three to four days in between

What recs do you have?? Likely getting a rental car if any activities are worthy of leaving the area.

Only things so far on list is to go to casino for poker tourney and hit up a minor league game

Would love to have other cool ideas as I have never been in area. Four of us meeting from various places. No one has been before. Two are budget conscious but not bad enough to miss out on a pretty cool activity or two

Suggestions welcome

Will be tons of snow still given the year they've had.

Maybe ski Heavenly? Most amazing ski view in America, IMO.

There's a good Lake Tahoe thread on this board if you want to search for it. We went last May for our anniversary, and used many recommendations from that thread.

Lake Tahoe is a great place to visit!

I did a quick search and didn't see the thread. I may have not put in the correct criteria. Was it on the travel board ??

Sounds like Heavenly (in the spirit of Vail Resorts) is cutting back on open terrain (closing Nevada side mostly) and will be scaling down operations throughout April, targeting a May 7 close. While places like Mammoth and Palisades are planning to stay open until at least July 4th, and Mammoth may go to August 15th. Leave it to Vail to F up the best snow season in decades out there by shutting down months ahead of everybody else. Can't have those season pass holders actually getting some extra value without paying extra for it I guess.

It's an overhyped texas hill country. Save your money. Go to Fredericksburg.

It's true. If you want a lake, go to Lake Travis instead. Tahoe is a glorified Texas hill country.

Skiing would be great but I know two have never skiied before and on budget so many next year...this may become and annual thing that we do not always in the same place however

Just wanting to bump this

I know we are leaving Reno for one day to go to South Lake Tahoe...any suggestions on hikes, places to eat, things to do in South Lake Tahoe and on way and back

Hitting up a minor league game but they play all week while there so that can be any of four different night games

Poker tourney

No ski, winter sports this time but if we have fun it is on the agenda next year next year at this time

Himelhaus (german beer garden) near base of mountain on California side)

El Fiore (Aggie owned or used to be) - very quaint small Italian restaurant pretty good food

Stateline Brewery (basement near Casinos/Gondola at Heavenly) has the most extensive whiskey selection I've ever seen or heard of... we're talking pours of bourbon that are $750... more rare than any Pappy by far.

Am I crazy? Are there no direct flights from Houston to Reno? EDIT: looks like Sat/Sun are the options.
