Anyone been and have some favorite activities/restaurants or thing to avoid? Favorite random food that isn't readily available at HEB?

Wife and I are going in a couple months and will be spending a few days west, then going over to the SE side for another few before finishing out the last couple days in Reykjavik.

Schedule so far is a mix of hiking and hitting the major tourists spots as well as an all day hike to one of the big peaks in the south. We've got a glacier hike & ice climbing guide booked for one of the days also near Skaftafell.

Incredible trip.

My main recommendation is to do one of the all day Super Jeep tours that takes you off road in to the interior of Iceland. You will see incredible geography you would otherwise never see most likely.

Liquor and cocktails are insanely expensive. And this was in 2018 pre-inflation.

Also puffin and reindeer. The latter is excellent.

I've heard puffin is good, I didn't try it tho. Reindeer I've had many times, excellent.
