We're planning a week in Merida for May. We're thinking a daytrip to Progreso, which I know is a cruise ship stop but it's a little closer than Celestun. We have been to Chichen Itza a couple of times, are there other ruins nearby? Any Merida recs for eating/drinking/activities? I've been wanting this trip a long time so pretty excited.

Definitely visit a cenote and go swimming. They are all over the Yucatan.
