We are heading to Branson with the grandparents for Spring Break and I was planning on renting a boat to take out on tablerock lake to get out on the water. We did this on Lake Powell in Arizona and everyone loved it.

I'm having pause though as the temps are forecast to be pretty low in March with highs anywhere between 50 - 70F.

Should I ditch the boat idea or is it still enjoyable to get out on the water even if it is chilly as long as we bundle up appropriately?

Have never done this on Tablerock but have used a fishing guide several times on Taneycomo during spring break. We had an absolute blast catching trout. Some days did get extremely cold. Totally dependent on weather. Sunny and 70 with light winds would be really nice... 50 and windy.... not so sure about that unless I am catching fish.

Another nice thing to do near Tablerock is Dogwood Canyon.

It's great scenery, so yeh just have some jackets/layers and you should be fine. We've been out there twice in 3 years and going again this summer, but you're not getting in the water in March.

Even in the summer the water is COLD by Texas standards.

we went in July of 2020 and it was the warmest water I've ever felt outside of something heated.
We were both really surprised by how warm it was, I bet damn near 90.

Quick search shows Indian point Marina has hit 90.5, and summer averages are upper 80s.

Every time I have been it's been COLD. I'm talking out in the middle of the lake where the water is deep. Maybe it's our timing.
