Thinking of doing 8 days or so between these 3. I see there's a train from London to Normandy so....

We are thinking fly into London, 3-4 days there, train to Normandy 1 day there, train to Paris 3 days there and fly home.

We will have our 2 little kids with us.

1: Is this enough time for those 3 cities?

2: Any hotel recs for western style hotels with double queen beds and private restrooms. Willing to pay a little more for that style hotel AND location in both cities.

Thanks

We used a private guide in London and she was fantastic. She is a blue badge guide and knows everyone, so she will save you tons of time which allows you to see more places. Also does Paris by train and knows guides over there for Normandy and other areas. She is very funny and personable. Easy to spend time with. She even wore her turquoise cowboy boots because she knew we were from Texas.

Her name is Anne Mark and her company is Marksman Tours. Give her a look if it is of interest.

Paul Woodage does a fantastic tour at Normandy. Not sure if he does a one day tour, as the one I did several years ago was two days.

Best travel advice i was ever given: "We'll be back." That is, don't try to do too much.

This trip seems like a lot.

This. Always travel with the intention of returning. That way you do not act on an impulse to do the shotgun approach of squeezing in several countries/cities in an abbreviated amount of time.

The exception to that is traveling to a single country whose geography permits it.

Ya, we've actually just dropped Normandy from the trip.

I've been told 8-9 days in London and Paris should be a great first trip with the hope to come back to Paris some day. We are thinking 4 days in each city or 5 in London and 4 in Paris.

Would love some hotel suggestions for both London and Paris.

We used Costco Travel when we went a few years ago.

Paris - London - Dublin was the package they had then.

It was actually reversed, but we did not want to finish off in Paris for multiple reasons so they worked with us.

Worst case it will give you some ideas on pricing/options.

Do London and Paris only. Imo paris has more to see if you stay in town so I would do 5 days in Paris and 4 in London. You don't need a tour guide, easy to see everything on your own time. Get lost for a few hours, part of the fun and you will for sure end up somewhere you won't regret.

I have about 400k Cap1 miles available but not tryina exhaust em all. I also have miles for the air so my only out of pocket costs are on the ground, train, food, shopping, museums, etc..

I'm kind of a hotel snob though. While I don't need the Waldorf, I do need a property that is more western has private bathrooms, double queen beds, and is an a safe area.
