We will be in terminal 1 for 3-4 hour layover. The only priority pass is terminal 1 is landside. Is it worth going through immigration, etc? There are several in terminal 2. How hard is that transit between terminals there?

You can walk or tram between terminals airside. If I was in your shoes I would do that rather than mess with customs/security.

It will take 1 hour just to go through all the security stations inside the terminal you land in.

Find the beir garden with a big pretzel sign and enjoy yourself inside security. I wanted to stop but was too busy running to catch my connection due to multiple security checkpoints inside the same terminal in which I landed.

We were able to go between terminals without much of a problem. The Germans are pretty efficient.

The Frankfurt airport is pretty low on amenities, but they do have some bier gardens that are plenty good enough so I would definitely stay airside and not bother going to the lounge. I've been in most of the lounges in Frankfurt and they are nothing special that is worth any extra effort.
