Dinner at Tentaciones. Try and get there for drinks at sunset. My wife and I got engaged there years ago. It's a phenomenal place.

I believe the Zihuatanejo beach scene in the movie was actually filmed in St. Croix.

What hotel are you staying in?

On/near La Ropa Beach-

IL Mare for Italian

Paty's Mar y Mar- good breakfasts on the beach. Lunch is good here as well.

Espuma- nice views. Suggest going around sunset.

The restaurant at La Casa Que Canta has good views at sunset/evening.

The restaurant at Villa Mexicana hotel has good breakfast

El Manglar- you might see a crocodile here

Rossys is a good place for happy hour

Sunset Bar at Catalina Beach Resort for happy hour. Great views.

Kau Kan restaurant just opened at new location at Punta Garrobbo

Arenas for breakfast

Puerto del Sol is a good dinner place. Jorge and staff will take good care of you.

In town- Lety's for excellent coconut shrimp

La Terracita

Coco Bahia

There are so many good places to eat there. It would take me forever to list them all. Post where you are staying and that will help. If you're staying on Madera Beach, my list will be a little different. We usually head down to Zihuatenejo once or twice a year.

If you go to Las Gates beach- Otilia's or Chez Arnoldo are best places. Just see which one has the location on beach you prefer. You can catch a panga boat ride there from the dock in town, get a boat ride over from La Ropa, or walk over the rocky path from La Ropa- wear tennis shoes if doing this.

Zihuatenejo has great fishing if that interests you. Lots of guides available. Also, good chance of seeing whales through end of March. There are dolphin and sunset cruises available. There is a good Mexican market downtown if that is of interest.

La Casa Que Canta for sure. Man I love Zihuatanejo - used to go regularly but it's been a while. Need to go back!
