Thinking Charleston for baby moon. We're thinking a few nights in the city and a few nights on the beach if possible. We've never been.

Any recommendations on particular hotels to stay in? My wife likes nice hotels but I would prefer to avoid spending a ton per night.

Any recommendations on fun things to do?

My Brother owns an ArBnB company called https://www.theinns.com/ in Charleston. They are upscale and close to King Street. I suggest Halls Chophouse but reserve in advanced. Also 167 Raw oyster house has the best lobster rolls I have ever had.

We stayed in a VRBO condo between Folly Beach and Charleston and it was great. I'd look there

Quick 20 min drive to all the night life in Charleston and a quick 10-15 min drive to shops, cafes, and beach in Folly Beach.

Place was on the water with a screened in patio. Great little place.

James Island?

I also stayed in a VRBO there just down the street from the Municipal Golf Course. I found that location to be ideal for going to downtown and out to Kiawah. Charleston and the entire surrounding area is just great.

We stayed at HarbourView right by the water. Easy walks to all the great restaurants and the historic sites and market.
Would recommend it. Look at some of the old posts and make dinner reservations well in advance.

Such a great area. I'll let everyone else hit you with the main things to see and do but make sure you find yourselves at Leon's for oysters, fried chicken, cocktails and more. Might need reservations depending on the day/time you're there. Don't miss it.
