OK so my mom has 2000+ of these Texas A&M Aggie Prints...about 150+ are autographed by all 4 athletes from back in 1980. Looking to sell the entire lot & just get them out of her garage. We've had these in our family for decades...my dad used to work for an art gallery back in the 70's & 80's and somehow he was involved in selling these

The ORIGINAL of this painting is hanging somewhere on campus...used to be in the dining hall

The painting is called "Yesterday's Hero's" & features Aggie sports legends. The autographed prints are signed by the artist & have a stamped seal.

Randy Matson & my dad commissioned the artist, Lajos Markos (sp), back in 1980 to paint the original...which used to hang in the Aggie Dining Hall back in the day. Prints were then made. My dad & Markos met the 4 guys & they signed a bunch of them. Looks like there are 75-100 signed ones. 1000+ of the unsigned ones.

These prints are almost 50 years old...we've had them that long. My dad sold several & then just never tried to sell the rest.

I hear you, but this has been an ongoing ordeal with my 74 year old mom wanting to get these prints out of her house for ages.

Bro...these things were signed back in 1980.

Some have the artists signature + Hallmark verification stamp + athletes autographs.

Some just the athletes autographs

2000+ are just the print with no autographs.

Update: We did a count this morning

There are over 2000+ unsigned ones
160+ autographic ones
60+ autographed & signed/stamped by the artist

Every autograph by each athlete is different on each print...thus they are NOT replicas.

I'm located in Cedar Park, TX north of Austin.

This will be a make me an offer kinda deal.

The prints are on super high quality eggshell thick painting print paper. These are NOT your typical poster paper hanging on your HS son's wall with thumbtacks. These are meant to be framed.

Whoever ends up buying them, I would be interested in one of the autographed ones if you decide to sell them individually (which I assume is why you would buy them). I don't have time to buy the lot and deal with the resale.

Man, this is really a stressful situation for my mom. She's 74 & has some sentimental attachment to these prints, & doesn't want to get ripped off, but at the same time has been crying about getting rid of all her things. I'm trying to communicate this process to her. I didn't see any message board rules on this classified page so I apology for any confusion. I just want to be done with them so I don't have to hear her wearing me out any more.

I came here to sell these things because a real Aggie needs to be selling them to the people that appreciate Aggie lore & history. Its an awesome print. My mom has 4 brothers/sisters that graduated from A&M back in the day but they wont help her. Its up to me, the son, to help her.

It s hard to sell sentimental stuff

I have told my kids there is nothing sentimental with my coins or guns sell everything

Now my wifes jewelry and my 870 wingmaster that I got at 16 Yep those are sentimental

maddiedou is a wonderful guy. Just dropped in here to say he helped me move some stuff that was my parents, when they passed and it was a pleasure meeting such a wonderful Aggie.

Good luck to everyone on this (I'm out of the bidding). This thread is getting a bit weird/odd, to me. Do they want to sell? Do they not? Honestly can't blame them if they don't after seeing the bids popping up for them. They are probably leaving a lot of money on the table.

I mean, even if someone pays $2000 for the bundle, that's $1 per regular print and the "meat of the bundle" (all the signed items) is pretty well all free. So the bundle is worth truly much more.
