I've got a 1995 Chevy 1500 with a 6.5 diesel engine. My mechanic is supposed to get a solenoid in it in the next few weeks, but once that is in, it'd be a great first truck.

The dash is cracked pretty badly and the paint is 30 y/o, but a $100 dash cover would cover that pretty easily.

Closer to a "farm truck". Might not be what you're looking for, but I'd let it go for $3K. It's pretty rare in terms of what it is. I'm the second owner.

this is my truck. would be a good starter with good gas mileage. any repair would fit well within your budget.

Sorry guys. Most people arent in the market for Excursions and I wasnt trying to keep OP from finding his son a trucj. Im happy to gather some info and pics and send to anyone interested. Just PM.
