Any reason for the recent run on 3 star commits? Understand you've got to fill out a class, but with our numbers already creeping up, it seems like a strange time to be padding with them.

Doubt its padding. More likely this staff had identified talent that is under the radar. Watch to see if their ratings change.

We have 6 three stars right now. One is a kicker so it's more like 5. That's the lowest of any team in the top ten 2027 classes at the moment. That would also be tied for the fewest of any school in the 2026 rankings.

I feel the concern but then I remember the fact that JFF, Mike Evans and Swope were all 3* recruits

It's not just about scholarships anymore. Need value. These are kids staff has identified as big upside and not shelling out big bucks.

Exceptions don't make rules. Teams that win big are almost always stacked with 4-5 star talent. For every 3 star guy that pans out, hundreds don't. And yes, every once in a while a 5 star guy doesn't pan out. But you're kidding yourself (and have been for nearly 100 years) if you're happy about picking up a 3-star "because Johnny was a 3-star".
