I imagine they will try at a higher court but obviously we are living in a world with no rules.

What a bunch of bull**** . Totally laughable. What's the point of the NCAA if they can't even enforce their own rules in a clear cut violation?

CFP Committee should just not factor into Tech's resume any games Sorsby plays in this season.

This is actually something. If the judge thinks his mental health depends on him being on the team and playing, fine. That doesn't mean decision makers in college football has to recognize any game he plays in.

This will be like the Alabama basketball player case where it will come under further scrutiny and the ridiculousness of the ruling coming from someone so tied into the football program will cause it to be overturned. My only question is will the judge find himself in any trouble. Feels like a flagrant abuse of power and ignorance of the law to me.

Our legal system is third world. Just find a judge who can be paid off and get the ruling you want.

It's a big game, close in the 4th quarter. A guy with a known gambling addiction is your QB. He throws two really bad picks that has fans scratching their heads. How long before Tech fans begin questioning "is gambling involved?"

Football is a great sport, and college football used to be the best version of it.

Now it's triple A NFL, with a bunch of suckers throwing billions of dollars at it.

I thought that judge recused himself. Was another tech judge appointed.

It's been happening forever. Money controls the world.

FYI, the new judge was already retired so he's not that concerned bc this has no effect on his well being.

The real issue is that judges seem to love temporary injunctions. Since making an actual ruling takes years they just pick a side and let them "win" while the case slowly grinds on.

I'm not sure that college football should rate as something that gets a courts top priority, but basically across the spectrum of legal cases this is a huge problem.

Call me naive but what authority does a judge have over the NCAA?

Regardless, it's just further evidence of the anarchist state of "college" football. After all, if a judge can do this, then why not just have him go all the way and declare Tech the national champion in 2026?

I'm a 52 year old guy.

For decades, college football was one of the "little special things" in life for many in my generation. Watching it be dismantled and ruined in real time has been so sad. So many guys like me in my generation who used to be diehards (years and years of season tickets, etc) have essentially just walked away from the game. Everything that made it so special has been stripped from it.

Just so sad.

That's certainly true. But when it's rich people on both sides, it's a race to find a judge who will let you do what you want while the actual case inches along.

True

I guess the NCAA is poor bc I cannot remember the last time a judge ruled in their favor.

Sounds awesome but the CFP is not under the NCAA umbrella at all. The FBS champ is actually not an ncaa event. So the NCAA rules really have no impact on the CFP/committee. It would be awesome if they did factor it in though.

Teams could claim that he is a threat to student athletes in their cities, as his morally reprehensible and illegal actions are an affront to their upstanding athletes, and being in close proximity to them would be a temptation to participate in gambling as well.

Sorsby can play that is fine but the NCAA doesn't have to grant the wins of Tech for playing a player who would be ineligible.

Schools should just cancel their games with Tech. The NCAA already made it clear that's he's ineligible, case closed. Games will get vacated so might as well hurt their resume to keep them out of playoffs.
