So one of 5 STs elements was not good. That is hardly awful and didn't cost us any games.

No reason to knee jerk or overly criticize, that is short sighted given the rest of STs was good to excellent.

And for PK kicking it is really more about the Jimmy or the Joe vs the Xs and Os of kicking technique. Regardless it was an issue and was addressed in the xfer portal.

Punting was superb in 2024, dropped off in 2025. Punting and place kicking very likely cost us a shot at a natty even with Klein and his playcalling...

Only 8 teams had less than 2 punts blocked. Out net average wasn't great but also not horrible. And that is a tricky stat as field position plays a large roll. So its not as laughable as you think to say pur punting was not bad.

Good in some, not good in others. KOR and PR very good.

Sure hope if stats do not improve significantly in 2026 that Elko changes that philosophy.

I thought our special team return game was one of the best in college for the 1st few games. Then mid-way feel through the roof.

Maybe I remember all the called back returns.

our protection scheme sucked. Not only had blocks, but extremely shaky numerous other times. Delusional if you don't think that wasn't an area of weakness.

And our net average punting sucked bc our punter sucked. Again, that wasn't some bad luck thing based upon field position.. our punter couldn't crush the ball consistently. Lots of mediocre punts.
