I dont agree. Talk **** and have the confidence. Back it up on the field. No reason our players should be afraid to speak about their confidence and ability to win.
Much rather see that than silence and players hoping they can win.
If they dont back it, thats on them for low performances and choking.
Clearly the poster doesn't have much confidence in Elko or this team to beat Miami. Glad you are not on this roster.
None of that had anything to do with that. I played and coached for years. Every thing that happened in the first half had to do with our own lack of playing well. If you think players from South Carolina actually got better because of something we said, well that is not possible. If firing some guys up can produce great football then Beamer should be fired for not doing that every week. We looked like crap the first half. We were our own enemy. Elko even said we were pressing in the first half. If being "fired up" over what someone said did that then why didn't Elko just go in there and say South Carolina said this? Look, I gave firey pregame talks, every coach does. But it only plays a part a very few moments of the game. If something goes bad early you as a coach have to refocus them. As a matter of fact you can be too "fired up." By the way, from listening to David Pollack's podcast yesterday (watching on Youtube, rather) - yes Trey said that, but he also apparently has the highest pass block grade from anyone since PFF started tracking it in 2014.
