Yeah I'd be curious to understand how the deals work between licensing schools' trademarks and advertising...basically who pays who for the extra exposure.

This season there was a big step up in this across the board in ads. IMO it's just part & parcel of all the t-shirt fans they're farming for CFB.

Basically the number of fans with no actual school loyalty now >>> number of fans (like me) who will boycott brands that get in bed like that with their rivals.

Why don't we reach out to big corporations and try to appear in ads? I think it would be great for marketing. Wells Fargo is a low-hanging fruit, since they're already one of our major sponsors.

Edit: Ford, Old Dominion, Pepsi, Gatorade, Dos Equis, and Seat Geek are other big ones, from the 12th Man website's sponsorship list.

If I boycotted everything that offended me, I would be living on the streets. Thankfully I'm not hurt by a commercial and this Aggie family will stick with Allstate.

It's obvious that the marketing geniuses in New York think that everyone in Texas cheers for tu and do not realize that they are p*****g off everyone else in the state. Seriously showing that Bevo add during an A&M game loses them business IMHO.

It's not getting bent out of shape, it's just stating you have the ability to walk to the next door down the street and get comparable insurance from another company that doesn't outwardly take a side/state an affiliation.

You're talking about most all of the D1 schools here in Texas you're taking a chance of alienating and driving away from your business.

Wrong. It's only that way because the small number of decision-makers (perhaps starting with ESPN) have decided that's the way it will be.

We don't have to sit still for that, or accept it as "just the way it is." But every day that we sit here and (don't pressure our leaders to) do something about it, the time it'll take to reverse gets a little longer.
