I've only been to Taz. Wonderful people and as far I know, it's good Indian food.

Taz. I honestly haven't had enough Indian food to say whether or not it's "good Indian food", but I thoroughly enjoy it.

Order off the menu for the best food. My Indian colleague tells me it is southern Indian food except the spices have been toned down.

My Indian friend said "It's a northern guy cooking Southern Indian food"...

Which, I think our Indian friends are saying the same thing.

As someone who eats a lot of Indian food and enjoys it all throughout the US and regular trips to India Id rank the local spots....

Aroma
Taz
Monks
Tika House

In that order.

But tbh the best Indian/Pakistani food in ALL of America is just 90 mins away in Houston at Agas. Destroys any competition here or in Houston. Imagine how difficult a 4.8 with 22,000 reviews would be in restaurants. It also recently won Chronicles Best overall restaurant. Totally worth the drive. But get order recs from pros before going! Mine: Lolipop chicken, goat chops, karahi, butter chicken, chicken chaska, and wash it down w mango lassi.

Most helpful post I've seen in a while, with food like this I gotta know what someone who loves it tells me to get.

With beans or no?

This is an important answer.

Both farm markets have Indian food vendors. I've been happy with what I've had. The guy who mans the stand at the Midtown farm market can be a tad aggressive in his pitch but he's friendly enough.

The chutney he makes with tiny plums is wildly good.
