GeographyAg's mother has moved back to BCS after 10 years at Hilltop. In Normangee she's been having her hair done weekly where they wash and roll it on those plastic fuzzy rollers and set her under a dryer. ($20)

Does anyone know of an old fashioned salon in BCS where they still do that? She went to a salon this week, but they washed it and blew it dry and then rolled it with a curling iron, which is not what she wants. They also charged $45, which added to her irritation. She'd probably pay ~30-35 but only if they do it the old way.

There have to still be some old ladies here who still have their hair done that way, right?

I think the hair school would be really cheap.

Not sure but Boardwalk on Carter Creek does that.

I think she's decided to just do her own hair at home. She's 84.

I know sometimes nursing homes have hair dressers. I just thought maybe someone would know.

My mom used to do hair and that was the bulk of her clientele before she retired.

You're so sweet! I would do it for her myself, but we live in Houston, and I don't get up to CS weekly.

I'm sure we'll find someone. She says she can do it herself, but she'll still need a perm every 6 months and a haircut every 3 or so, so she still needs a hairdresser who understands her hair style if we can find one.

I go to a Wild Hair Salon on Carter Creek in Bryan and see plenty of women in there for their weekly shampoo and set. My particular stylist does not do those styles but I know there a few different women there that to. They always seem so attentive and take care of them so well! It definitely could be worth reaching out to them to see what they have available.
