Can we all chip in and buy it?
Roland Ruffino said there is a buyer that is already in the same business and will run it as is. Also buyer would open similar store in CS. Hopefully deal will go through.

Would be awesome. Have my doubts about their ability to maintain the quality though.

Give it up. Farm Patch tried carrying seafood (yes there was a butcher shop and seafood place attached). The Fish Man tried. Fred & Fred tried. It's not happening
Get friendly with the HEB fishmongers. They are often willing to order stuff if they think folks want it.

BCS' proximate location to Houston and Austin disallows a lot of things locating and occurring here. Would be different if we were a hub on an island like Lubbock.
A lot more to a business than sourcing the product. Honestly, Ive never really bought meat from readfields. Chicken salad, BBQ, and muffaletta sandwiches. Along with 100-150lbs of deer sausage each season. All of those things take attention to detail and employees that care.
And, a lot of places have a history of expanding into college station and then seeing quality tank. Or they try to change their business model all together. Instead of replicating what worked well before, they come in and try to church it up. Poche's is a great example. The original location in Breaux Bridge is kinda similar to readfields current business. It's awesome and I was excited to see them on the list to come here. Then what they opened here is nothing like the original. Hopefully we dont end up with "Readfields" College Station with overpriced boutique coffee, pastries, and $5 kolaches with no meat in them. All being sold by a college student with a bad attitude.

That's fair, and my response was regarding the quality of the meat, that isn't changing…as far as the sandwiches and the other that you referenced, that certainly could change, heck may not even be a moneymaker for Readfields, who knows.
Any business that was barely hanging on with new debt is either going to have to cut costs, increase prices, or both. I doubt there is anyway to just increase sales to prevent having to go the other two directions.
