is this weekend - I'm not a runner but thought people needed the reminder that there will be road closures & such on Sunday.

I can but it's a long walk

There is no maximum time they can hold traffic. FWIW, it's a Boston qualifier. The runners will have complete right of way unless it's an emergency vehicle responding lights/siren.

Don't know what the protocol is, regarding holding up the runners, but about 8:35, at 2818 & F&B Rd, it was ridiculous, the length of time the officers had to hold up 2818 traffic. Runners were spaced out just enough, that in both directions, easily 50-60 vehicles waited... and waited.. finally a few horns were honking. Officers were smiling, kudos to them for dealing with the headache.
When finally allowed to go, we were close to the front (northbound), very likely back of the line didn't make through.
Curious if there is a maximum time the officers are using, for traffic control.

What other "sport" has carte blanche control over such a wide swath of B-CS traffic?
Runners rule??
We encountered traffic control twice, F&B & 2818, then again at west Villa Maria & 2818 exit.
I'll wager the vast majority of drivers could not care less "it's a Boston qualifier".
Maybe use the RELLIS campus for future escapades...

Football for one. Seven, nay, eight games a year for quite some time during and after a game. On Saturday afternoons and evenings. Much more disruptive than one Sunday morning a year.
Heads up, this Saturday between 200 and 500 will one of those Saturdays.

One Sunday a year for a few hours on a morning and people acting like all their freedoms were taken away.
It happens every year 2nd Sunday of Dec for last 14 years. Mark your calendar now for next year.
Will likely be same route again next year

Not even remotely the same, for the areas affected...but you knew that.

It happens on a non-football/non-graduation weekend. For a reason.
The route has been roughly the same since it started. Specifically designed to include Bryan, College Station and the Texas A&M campus. Rellis wasn't a thing when this started.

You know how, like on football game weekends, you know to avoid Wellborn near campus? Or like, when its Graduation & Prom season so you stay out of the local resaurants? Or there is going to be a parade at on the same weekend, at the same time as all previous years? Its like that.
If you're going to be a big boy town, you will have big boy issues.
