College Station Utilities issued a power outage alert in Brazos

- Area: Williams Creek, Spring Meadows, Estates of Woodland Hills, and more.
- Affecting: 413 customers.
- Cause: Unknown.
- Estimated service restoration: Unknown.

I assume its back up since I can view my home cameras now.

HEB was creepy. I guess with all the construction, their generators weren't reconnected correctly.

we were driving south on 6, south of WD40 when the lines over the highway arced and then a large plume of brown smoke came off of the line. About 8:35 am or so.

I'm in Castlegate and, many years ago, saw a similar plume/mushroom cloud when there was an incident at that substation. We were out of power for a couple hours. Just like today's incident, it was likely a snake or squirrel that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Our South CS location's power is down along with 1000 other customers according to CSU outage map.

I live in Castlegate and we just lost power about 15 minutes ago.

It's kaput in castle rock. Suns out so not weather related.

And now all of Castlegate is in the dark.

They are estimating 6:10 for restoration time.

That's the standard "2 hours" reply that they use all the time isn't it? Started at 4:10.

I called to report it and that was the time on the recording and then they sent me a text with the info as well.

Castlegate II has no power either.

Funny how it happens on the day that was predicted to reach 90 degrees.

It's back. Didn't realize how much electronic stuff I have until all the beeps buzzes and whirls sing together. Back to work!!

Funny how easy it is to take our power for granted. With all the stuff in the news about Spain/Portugal with grid down, it made me nervous that similar thing was happening here.

There is a way that you can sign up for text updates on the CSU website.

That's too much effort.

As we drove under the aforementioned line, I asked my spouse if any fried squirrel was falling from the sky.
