It seems like the Indian Paintbrushes are normally out by now and Bluebonnets are right behind them but this year they seem to be late. I saw a few driving back from Houston on Thursday but nothing like usual. Are they late or am I misremembering the timing?

They are slightly late. My Facebook memories started popping up past years pictures Friday.

Spring seems a bit late this year. I'm usually 3-4 weeks into MS150 training by now but this weekend was the first weekend I did rides on back to back days. Usually I start training around February 20th with my first back to back days in early March or about two weeks ago. During winter I'm happy to ride once or twice a week just to keep going but this winter I rode three times in January and February combined because weather was kind of all over the place.
The federal government was never meant to be this powerful.

drove over to Brenham on Wednesday last week and there were no bluebonnets on Hwy 50 that I saw. Used to be lots of them.

I saw some bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush on the south side of Fitch (Tower Point area) yesterday. I have one little volunteer bluebonnet in my front yard that hasn't bloomed (yet).

We were in Independence on Saturday and the bluebonnets were out in the historical area but not at peak yet. However, we only saw maybe a half dozen bluebonnets on 105 while going there. I'm starting to think this is not a good year for wildflowers. The sides of the roads look like they were just mowed last week, very little growth.

We were around Independence and Washington last Monday and I was disappointed to not see any flowers. Then on Saturday, w went to Navasota and noticed they had appeared around the northern 6/B6 split. Yesterday, I noticed them in the median of the new Harvey Mitchell. Neither have peaked yet, but they're starting.
