Super exciting topic: what is your favorite weed eater string that seems to last longer? My pet peeve is running out of string when I'm almost done with the yard.

My personal favorite is the EGO battery powered trimmer with the self-loading head. Thread the 14 foot trimmer line so that 7 feet are on both side of the head, press and hold the button and it automatically coils. It's pure genius.

I used one of these for years. Super heavy line was easy to install and lasted 3 or 4 weekends in a normal suburban yard

Makes the line more "pliable", less brittle, so it won't break as easy. Sounds crazy, but it does work. Lots of testimonials on the internet.

I have a craftsman that has a cartridge that auto feeds. When it runs out, you just pop in another one. I'll never use a regular weed whacker again.
