Needing some pigeons for a good price for hunting dog training. Anybody know the current market price and have a supplier?

Do you want homers or ferals?

I had to trap my own ferals at fairgrounds/4-H barns, feed mills & grain elevators. I wasn't ever able to source any pigeons but homing pigeons and nobody would sell them to me knowing I was working pointing dogs with them, I was straight up with everyone I contacted about what I was doing and the homing pigeon guys didn't like the idea of dogs involved with their birds.

My buddy that had about 30 pointing dogs in his string would go to underpasses and net them with fishing nets on long poles as an extension. He would get 50+ in a night doing that..

There are probably plenty of ranchers with hay barns with pigeons in them- they would love for you to catch
Them and get rid of them. We had a hay barn close to my grandmothers house on the ranch- we would shoot over there all the tine to run them off - they always came back. We got rid of them when we tore the barn down - pest

Humble Feed Store used to sell them.

Guy traps pigeons on the north and east sides of Houston. But he is tough to get a hold of for just a few birds

This guy travels all over the state catching birds for large shoots, and you might catch him in Houston and buy a few off of him.

I got a guy off 99 & Clay Ive bought from a few times for $25/ea. Don't know his name, I just text him and take my puppy kennel over there to get them.

My brother has a small feed and grain operation. I took a couple with a pellet gun for that purpose.

He has some "foreign exchange students" as customers who got a few pigeons from him. They came back a few weeks later asking for more. In their words, "muy rico"

we trapped them under overpasses for the same purpose. I think I recall one of our dogs getting some sort of skin issue from them. Nasty bastages they are
