Looking like Saturday will be raining all day, then getting really cold overnight here in Brazoria County.
What do y'all think would be best time to cover landscape plants?
I've heard ice helps insulate, but will a wet/frozen cover be better....

We always take threaten plants in our garage and cover the remaining of the deck stuff exposed to freezing. Central Texas here and below 20 is worrisome for plants and the family. Our pets are inside.

Pretty sure he's talking about landscape plants, not potted.

Personally, I'd rather not be out there in the cold rain trying to cover my plants. So I covered the one bed I plan to this afternoon, when it was pleasant.

I'd cover before the rain and then the wet covering will freeze over, and that's only more insulation.

We did ours last night so that we weren't trying to do it in the rain tonight after work. I'll just have to check that edges haven't blown up when I get home today.
