Walked outside with my daughter to ride bikes around the park and saw what I thought was an airplane taking off from Easterwood. Was just a light at first and then formed the halo look. I thought at first that it was a weird effect due to some low lying clouds and then realized there are no clouds. The halo eventually went away but continues to have a glow around it (last picture) as it traversed silently from north to south.

I saw the same thing this spring on Lake Austin. Believe it was a space x or something similar launch in the area. It had everyone talking about it.

In all seriousness, it's a SpaceX rocket. I think they make that ring when they deploy all the satellites. We saw it a few weeks back in the daytime. Couldn't figure out what it was for the life of me- Google solved the mystery.

That's the visual light shockwave of an alien spacecraft having fully reviewed the planet for invasion and GTFO after realizing this place is ****ed.

That's not the starlink satellites, it is the exhaust plume of the rocket

Looks like Space X did a launch about an hour before I saw it. Seems to make the most sense even though I was hoping for dikfer... Thanks, guys!

Saw it this evening while camping in the hill country. Was definitely hard to make sense of what it was because it was traveling north to south, and when the stage separated it looked like a huge halo expanding out in front of the light source. Pretty wild.

I think it's stage separation on one of the rockets… falcon 9?

Would love to hear someone explain exactly what it is though… saw it in the back yard a year or so back.
