Great memories of my teen years. Still have my Love You Blue shirt. The first welcome back at the Dome after the CCG. 610 in front of the Dome was practically closed. So cool.
If you told me then that I'd still be waiting for a Super Bowl today........
I would give back both the Astros titles and the Rockets back to back titles to have seen the Oilers win a Super Bowl with Bum and Earl and that defense.
Earl came to my elementary school in 1981 and spoke for an hour about hard work.
I'm a hat guy and the one I get the most comments on by far is my Oilers hat. My son has a bunch of sweet throwback jerseys and the one he gets the most comments on is Warren Moon. There are so many Oilers fans in DFW, its great. Luv ya blue!
I have this little puppy in my home office and still have an original Luv Ya Blue shirt, an old real Oilers helmet and a 45 record with the Luv Ya Blue fight song… and yes, I can still sing every word.
“Some people bring joy wherever they go, and some people bring joy whenever they go.” ~ Mark Twain
Still hurts that they left, and I will forever despise Bud Adams.
Right after they left, I was at the rodeo one year with my mom. Drayton McLane was out there during the livestock show awarding kids some prize and was about 100 feet from where we were sitting.
My mom said, "What would you do if it were Bud Adams out there instead of McLane?"
I said, "I don't know, probably jump the fence and try to kill him."
