Prob so but this dude would increase the athleticism of the defense big time.

How about we keep all those DTs and draft this kid to pair w overshown?

Arvell Reese will likely be one of the first non-QB prospects off the board. But if he's there when the Cowboys pick, thats a no-brainer.

I'm still not as invested in the Cowboys this year like I usually am (I'm all Ags in '25) and I'm certainly not looking super close at our path to the playoffs...

But at a quick glance, it looks like every NFC team that we needed to lose won a football game this week. Those dang Panthers aren't as bad as we thought.

Still not convinced this team has what it takes to go 5-0 down the stretch... I might change my mind depending on how Thursday goes.

Panthers are an enigma.

If the cowboys find a way to beat the lions on Thursday, then I might start getting more invested, but I'm currently in the same mindset as you.

The only path we have is hoping the Eagles drop more games down the stretch and we win out.

The Eagles are pretty mediocre this year, so that seems like it's at least plausible

The Panthers are irrelevant to us, the Bucs/Panthers play twice down the stretch and only one of them will make the playoffs as a division winner. We are already ahead of Carolina in the standings anyway. If anything them beating the Rams helps us by keeping them from clinching early and beating some other teams.

The teams that matter are the Eagles, Bears, Packers, Lions, Seahawks, Rams and 49ers. The NFC South only gets one team in and everyone else is so far back it doesn't matter. We can take care of the Lions ourselves on Thursday. Then the rest of the season is about winning and hoping you either catch the Eagles for the division, or hoping the same team wins both Packers/Bears games so we have a good chance to jumping one of them. The path to catching an NFC West team is less likely
Just due to scheduling, any of those teams getting to 6 losses is hard to see.

That's not true at all

The Bears, Lions and Packers all have brutal schedules down the stretch. We have to surpass two of them. If the same team wins both Packers/Bears games and we win out, it's a near lock we'll be in the playoffs as a wild card.

Now that I look at it the 49ers are also very vulnerable. They have three tough games left and if they go 2-2 we'll jump them.

All this weekend did is make the path to the playoffs with a loss unlikely. If we win out we're still almost certainly making it.

What y'all are saying is mostly what I gathered in my quick look. Looks like the West could very well get 3 teams in and so we are fighting the North for a wild card.

But I honestly hadn't even considered catching Philly, but that might be the easier path. They definitely look like a team that could drop 2 or 3. It wouldn't be that different than their end of season '23 collapse.

But like we are saying... I'll wait till Thursday night before I really start investing into "what if" scenarios.

I should've reworded what I wrote; I was coming at it from more of an angle than I think that us catching the Eagles for the division is the most likely and easiest path in my my mind. It's not the only path to the playoff. You are very much right in that regard.
