Picking 8th in a 12 team league PPR and planning on going RB with that first pick and picking up a solid WR1 on the way back. Typically in my mocks so far I'm landing on either CMC, Achane and/or Jacobs

What's the call? CMC is certainly the swing for the fences, high risk pick who I 100% would have to cuff with Guerendo but he's most likely to be a league winner if he stays upright. Jacobs is the safe, high floor play. Achane is lightning in a bottle and a PPR machine but he plays on such a bad team and doesn't see the end zone much.

It is CMC or Achane. If you want Jacobs then take him in the 2md round and get a better WR.

I wouldn't be surprised if CMC goes before pick 8.

I would maybe think through how your draft would go if JJ fell to you at 8. If the hamstring thing persists I could see 4 RBs going ahead of him and then 3 WRs chase, lamb and most likely Amon.
Then in round 2 you get 1 of Bucky, brown, Jeanty.

Hell, I'd go WR then grab Chase Brown in round 2.

Pick the best player available and draft around that

It's a keeper league. Brown is somebody's keeper this year

This is the first I've heard of a hamstring issue with Jacobs. That makes him a non starter to me as hamstrings tend to linger. I'm kinda leaning toward CMC with Achane as my plan B. I'm relatively sure I can get a Puka Nacua or maybe even Amon Ra in the 2nd round. Our group tends to be pretty RB centric and everybody wants to grab a good one in the 1st

If they go RB heavy early I would go WR. Zig when they zag

Probably way too late, but a site that I pay for intel, ranks the top 5 RBs as Robinson, J.Gibbs, Barkley, J.Jacobs and B.Irving. A couple of those surprised me.

Rounding out the rest of the stud RBs are C.Brown, D.Henry A.Jeanty, C.McCaffrey, Ky.Williams, J.Taylor
