This post is so timely! My son is graduating with an engineering degree (chemical) in August. Summer classes are remote so he is open to internships.

My buddy used to work in the Austin office as an engineer...tread lightly.

A humorous interaction with my son after your original post made me chuckle. He's a junior MechE with an interest in CAD looking for an internship this summer.

I messaged him to recommend that he apply with Kimley-Horn. He's says, "I already did."

I respond "Great. I'll mention it to the recruiter posting on TexAgs. They can likely make sure a human at least sees your application."

He comes back with, "Yeah, they reached out to me a couple of weeks ago apparently from when I applied there last summer and asked to talk. They still had my freshman resume, but then the next day said I wasn't what they were looking for, so…."

It just made me smile, and we shared a laugh about it. I reinforced not to let rejection get you down. You'll face 100s of nos. You only need 1 yes.

Glad he got a response! And true, could be a different story next time around too. Let him know he can reach out later in the Fall, if he's interested to explore again. Lots of Junior and Senior Interns here for sure.

What can you tell me about the entry level marketing coordinator job? Any available in the Houston area?
