If this is satire, it's so close to the truth that it's hard to see daylight between them.

Tweeted and retweeted by folks I don't know and have never heard of.

But whomever did this did it very well.

Long, but a good, clear assessment of what Colbert was for 11 years, killing the late night format as he went, with nary a producer daring him to stop that train from driving straight off a cliff.

He was periodically funny with his old show "The Colbert Report".

I never understood the choice to put him in the slot he's been in. Nor did I realize, since I haven't seen a single second of hi current show, that he's been there 11 years. Wow.

I want to be honest about something. The content was not bipartisan. We chose a side. But I need you to understand: we did not choose it because we believed in it. We chose it because that side's audience is more responsive to correction. They want to be updated. They want to be told their language is outdated. They experience correction as care. The other side does not respond to correction. They respond to provocation.

Yep. I know several people who adopted colbert & Stewart's comedy as an actual belief system, and believed they were informed...guys like them & bill maher helped push society further down the path of social decay, and now they wonder how we got here. They're brilliant, yet so very very stupid at the same time.

It's indeed satire, and I enjoyed it, thanks. Though it got a little repetitive.

To your point, though, parody and actual, sincere, ridiculous content is getting harder by the day to differentiate. It amazes me in a bad way what people are willing to attach their own names and faces to these days…
