Anyone surprised that a once beautiful, thriving city got run straight into the ground by Democrats aka dumbasses cosplaying as leaders?

I despise socialism. Not because of slogans or politics, but because it is one of the oldest scams in human history: corrupt parasites convincing lazy, weak-minded, and emotionally manipulated people that dependence is virtue and that government can somehow create utopia.

It never creates utopia. It creates decay, filth, crime, dependency, resentment, and eventually collapse.

The people pushing this garbage know exactly what they are doing. Wrap destruction in "compassion," call theft "fairness," call failure "equity," and suddenly millions of useful idiots march right along with it believing they're morally enlightened.

How did they gain power?

Two reasons:

1. Too many people are foolish enough to believe socialism will save them because they've been trained to think they are perpetual victims owed something by society.
2. Too many people in the center and on the right either failed to recognize the threat, or recognized it and responded with spinelessness, passivity, and endless "niceness."

That response is almost as stupid as the socialist sheep themselves.

Better start pushing back against this idiocy hard and soon or the same rot that destroyed Seattle will spread everywhere else, including Texas cities.

A mandatory two week trip to a socialist and/or a communist country should be mandatory to graduate from an American high school. The results of socialism and communism and the misery and death it results in would be a great lesson for our children to learn.

Even then, I don't think they would. They would convince themselves that it just wasn't being run correctly there or it was an anomaly.

You would literally have to drop these people in the middle of the Middle East have them raped and murdered by Hamas for them to really understand and then they would be dead and they would still think that socialism was a good thing.

You know how you end socialism? Socialism.

Let them have it for a while.

It's kind of like the solution for high prices being high prices.

It can't sustain itself.

Dumb people will jump at the first flashy thing they are promised and never weigh what they are giving up in return.

But let them experience first hand what they have to sacrifice, and eventually, they figure it out.

You know who will never vote for socialism? All the eastern europeans, cubans, and Venezuelans that have had to live under it.

Ever met a Cuban that likes communism?
Ever talk to somebody from a former Soviet state in Eastern Europe that is a fan of communism?
Ask the Venezuelans what they think of socialism.

This is also exactly why, when the Democrats eventually try to make DC and Puerto Rico states, we need to tell them we will agree to it as long as they make Cuba a state also.

They will drop it right there, because the Cuban people will never vote for a socialist again. At least not until all of the current Cubans are dead.

Mamdani and the Seattle idiot are perfect examples of what happens when you give spoiled rich kids important jobs. They're the reason generational wealth isn't a real thing but generational poverty is.

Good job Seattle, you voted for your own destruction.

The goal isn't to fix things. Improving whatever we're taking about is a goal of the right. The left's goal is government dependency and you don't accomplish that by fixing things.

Correct.

Furthermore, the mess he is supposedly cleaning up was made by socialists that came before him, so he is then saying it takes more socialism to clean up the mess from...socialism.

Unfortunately I don't think this would help. They would convince themselves that conditions are bad in other countries because capitalism in the US.

I picked up a "philosophy" book this week where the author did a thought experiment. If you are walking and saw a toddler face down in a puddle drowning and one else was around what would you do? Would you save the child even if it ruins your new shoes? He states this is like rich countries not giving money to poor countries. The poor countries are just toddlers who need help and it's morally wrong for rich countries not to fix all of their problems.Nothing about the choices other countries made to get them there. Still the fault of the bad capitalists.

Yeah, he badgered the Governor of New York to give him 4 billion so he could even be able to fake balancing the budget. All he did was buy time and increase the baseline buget.

He's a smug little commie now, but as more and more businesses head for better economic climates, it's only going to get worse. The chickens will come home to roost, and it may be sooner than he thinks.

And that was just for one year. Is Hochul going to bail him out every year he's in office?

Also, I read today that their new mansion tax he made a big deal about is really only for two years. According to Hochul:

Quote:

After two years, second homes would be taxed at a considerably lower rate and wouldn't be assessed by market value. Instead, the governor's office said city officials would need to devise a new system to value these second homes in phase two.

They are band aiding and fake accounting the near term to keep socialist promises.

Just a big enough band aid to get some results so he can run for senate or congress in a few years. Leave the flaming bag of crap for the next regime to clean up while he gets more power due to the machine & dumb dumbs in New York.

Agree.

I'll add on to this...

The news articles are very similar at this point. The articles always point to "the rich" are leaving in droves.

How many of these idiots voted for this--and did so reliably for many election cycles?

Howard Schultz is the very personna of this person yet the article paints him as some sort of anti-hero.

People like Schultz are a huge part of the problem: they have lots of wealth that can get their very flawed candidates and prefferred policies put into law.

Then when the realities start to get a bit uncomfortable they flee like a locust to their next location and host.

It is great that Texas and other red states are getting growth. Electorally it is a game changer.

But how long will this last when people like Schultz are behind alot of the growth?

Socialists are bad enough.

Ultra wealthy socialists (limosuine liberals) that should damn well know better but refuse to reflect are the worst of the worst.

The single biggest flaw in socialist thinking is the total lack of accounting for the behavioral inputs (the permutations of which are almost incalculable) that go into determining a set of outcomes or outputs.

All that Damdani says is "it takes a socialist to fix the problem" and the sheeple applaud. He doesn't say how, or give any indication as to what he would do. He just says "A socialist will fix it!"

That's Dem logic everytime - Compassion, Love, Help, Not Your Fault, Be the Victim, Feel Good! - but never any answers.

It is embarrassingly stupid, feminine, and irrational, but lots of people embrace it. I am not even going to say fall for it, they didn't fall for anything, they simply want to beleive it is not their fault and cede any responsibility to the gov't. AND if you don't agree they want you dead. And that is my single biggest problem, it is what they believe… they can believe anything they want to. It is what they DO because of what they believe.

They are truly dangerous.
