I've seen this before. It is not a per capita comparison. Only totals...
Heh Grok- doesn’t this ranking fail to factor in the size of the schools?

Grok: Yes. These rankings use absolute 2023 crime totals such as assaults, burglaries, and thefts without adjusting for enrollment size, causing large universities to rank higher regardless of per-student…

Is it dangerous because it is more conservative than others?

Here are the enrollment rankings per ChatGPT, seems very similar to their graphic. This must have been put together by some moron.

also note that Notre Dame (South Bend / Elkhart) is on the per capita list along with IUPUI. Very dangerous.

why is per capita so hard for people?

Even if those are totals, rather than per capita....I dont buy it.
You're telling me texas, in downtown Austin, has less incidents than our campus in College Station. Bullcrap. Aint no way. I know people in law enforcement and they're constantly dealing with issues from the city, bleeding onto campus.
There is some funny business going on, with how the crimes are reported. Colleges don't want to be seen as an unsafe place, or moms stop sending susie to their school.
