The AGs of DC, IL, CT, DE, HI, MD, MA, MI, MN, NV, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, VT, and WA argued in 2024 that there's no 2A right to carry guns at "events involving political speech, like political rallies and protests" because they are "often targets of violence" https://t.co/471u7bqPEipic.twitter.com/bN5KHgMf4e
People called officer Byrd a murderer for shooting Babbit. He was justifed, just like Ross was justified in shooting Good thru windshield.
I have seen nothing to justify the shooting of Pretti. If you resist police while carrying a gun you deserve to get beat down. If you never reach for the gun, you dont deserve to be shot. And if a cop takes your gun, you dont deserve to get shot for possibly having another gun.
Im seeing libs post on social media about conservatives "abandoning 2A and not being tread on". Honestly, with this Pretti incident, its starting to look like a legit point.
Rational Americans should support ICE beating down anyone who resists arrest, full stop. But if they go too far or make mistakes, we shouldnt bend over backwards and compromise Constitutional rights to support the Feds. There are tons of bad feds, mostly in ATF....but prob plenty in ICE too. Guys who wanted a badge to flex on all those who bullied them in HS.
If Babbit was a black woman wearing a handmaid tale outfit with a mob of abortion protesters, and got shot by a white cop.....I doubt you would argue it was not justified. You would be supporting the cop, while the left called for his execution.
This is my point. Who cares if its a terrorist breaching congress floor or a MAGA. Who cares if its a dumb lib protesting ICE, or a conservative protesting statue removal. I say F the feds when they go too far. And FAFO for citizens who go too far. Regardless of politics, use same standards.
You get no blue stars for this on F16....often it results in timeout for "belittling others".

Put yourself in that fight, whistles blowing loudly greatly heightening the "fog of war." A fight with someone resisting. Someone yells "gun!" Your training kicks in.

I see a case for the officer.
Yep, thats the defense arguement no doubt.
They said same thing to defend Phil Brailsford for his cold blooded murder of Daniel Shaver...who wasnt even resisting and didnt have a gun on him.
It was a much weaker "fog of war" arguement for the Shaver incident. Its ok to admit a mistake was made with Pretti...not murder, but a bad use of lethal force.
My main concern here is the feds having a new legal arguement against citizens carrying in public.....it all seems ok now. But when Dems take control we slowly move towards tyranny like up north.
The rules are always (D)ifferent based upon their circumstances, how they are feeling, what they want to happen.
Remember that phrase, it's a "living document"? I think this is an example of that. It means what they want it to mean at any given time.
Whereas the rest of us see it as the document of immutable rights provided every US citizen. Not the aliens that stepped across our border at the behest of the Democrat commie party.
Babbit was absolutely committing a crime by breaking a window inside the Capitol building but she wasn't armed. The major problem I have with the shooting is that not only was she not armed, but she was outnumbered by officers and if you watch the video/ look at pictures of the incident, there are at least two fully body armored up riot gear equipped officers on her side of the window within feet of her just watching her kick the window and doing NOTHING to restrain her or arrest her because they apparently believed she was not a dangerous threat. If she was a danger, surely several equipped officers could have simply restrained her and arrested her.
