New Braunfels, TX An arrest has been made in an arson case involving the Comal County Republican Headquarters following a joint investigation by local and federal authorities.
On January 14, 2026, at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers with the New Braunfels Police Department and the New Braunfels Fire Department responded to the Comal County Republican Headquarters in the 200 block of Landa Street. Employees arriving at the building discovered an exterior window had been broken and a small fire had been set, causing minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Investigators from the New Braunfels Police Department, the New Braunfels Fire Marshal's Office, and the FBI San Antonio Field Office, along with the FBI's Computer Analysis Response Team (CART), worked collaboratively to identify a suspect, gather evidence, and obtain search and arrest warrants.
On January 22, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., authorities executed the warrants and arrested 21-year-old Grace Carol Brown of New Braunfels without incident. She was transported to the Comal County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Building and Arson. Bond was set at a combined $200,000.
Officials say the case remains an open and active investigation involving New Braunfels police, fire investigators, and the FBI, and additional charges may be pending.
